Everyone is time poor and they may require external professional support or, an extra temporary skilled resource. It may be an urgent project or one that has sat there for some time and that is where I help clients. I drive delivery across a range of HR, data protection, governance and training issues. To provide a flavour of this variety I am working with clients currently on: devising a People Strategy and HR Action Plan; assisting with organisational re-structuring; job evaluation and pay benchmarking; ensuring data protection compliance and developing and delivering a public and in-house training programme.
I feel privileged to have the opportunity to learn about the DNA of the diverse array of organisations. This tailored personalised approach is one of the things Navigator and Vialex do best. Once I have learnt about the organisation I am then curious about my clients, my psychology background comes in helpful here! Within the agreed remit I work collaboratively with clients through the duration of the project (and often, post project). Other skills I employ include the courage to challenge, decisive thinking and skilled influencing. While milestones will be set, projects often require flexibility which due to our size we are able to accommodate.
My expertise is wider than just HR. In my spare time I am a non-executive Director on a Student Union University Board and a Director of a small property development company.
My main motivation at work is seeing interesting clients delighted with the quality and completion of a project to allow them to be even more successful and effective organisations. It’s great to deliver proactive projects to help organisations and also, my colleagues in their dealings with our clients – we are an exceptional team.
